This is Fred Varley’s very first Orffestra. It came about when our grade 3 and 4 students were mesmerized by the school band and wanted a band of their own. We have about 50 students in our ensemble ages 7 and 8. Since our ensemble is made up of such a variety of instruments, we get have fun in exploring and creating our own arrangements of pieces. Our students came with a wide range of musical experiences - some came in with none, but we do our best to create arrangements that include everyone regardless of where they are at, only with a shared passion for creating beautiful music and having fun.
