You say it takes a village? We can handle that. Through the combined efforts of 130 singers, 60 instrumentalists, 85 dancers, 3 music instructors, 2 dance artists and 6 homeroom teachers/videographers, the team at Calgary Arts Academy (Youth Campus) is proud to present their entry for this year’s Canadian Music Class Challenge. The audio from this performance was captured live-off-the-floor during our 8th (and final) take on the afternoon of Thursday, November 22nd, 2018. To ensure that each of our 275 Year 4-9 students could have a chance of getting some meaningful on-screen time, the footage in this video is predominantly comprised of images from that same live take, with a few shots of the afternoon’s rehearsal process mixed in for good measure. Calgary Arts Academy is an innovative public charter school that engages children through Arts Immersion to become confident learners and spirited citizens.
