This is the Coldbrook Grade 7 Band and Grades 3-5 Choir performing Lost Boy by Ruth B. Coldbrook & District School is a public school in rural Nova Scotia that has (amazing) students in Grades Primary through 8. It would have been much easier to learn Lost Boy from sheet music, but these second year band students had way more fun (and learning through) creating their own band arrangement from only the chords. After much experimentation, the students decided they wanted more singers to balance out all the instruments, so they invited the choir into the project. It was a new and exciting experience for all and we can’t wait to perform it at our upcoming concert. Thanks to CBC for the fun, challenging, and creative opportunity!
